Lone Skater is a piece I wrote using instruments that are close to me. The instruments like the piano however are unstable and it shows that with some of the notes. It was mostly a project I set for myself to get in the mood of skating and what it feels to glide on ice alone with no one else. It’s freeing but oh so lonely.

I wrote this piece for school. The prompt was to write music based on a piece of literature that doesn't have music and that you relate to. I wrote a tune based on the webcomic Blades of Furry - by Deya Muniz and Emily Erdos. During my time composing this piece, I got new skates and started practicing again; I recorded some audio during my skate sessions alone in the rink, and it's what drove my desire to write this tune. There's not much of a main melody because in a rink alone there isn't the eye to be perfect for others; it's just me, the ice, and my music. No one will see me fall a thousand times to perfect one triple axel.
